Our tour begins in Antigua Guatemala, from where we will bring you to Lanquin, the heart of the cacao world & the Q'eqchi' Maya nation, known as the guardians of cacao and keepers of its traditions.

TRUE CONNECTION TO SACRED CACAO

A HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE OF AN ANCIENT TRADITION

With your hands, prepare your own ceremonial cacao from bean to cup. Witness the vibrancy of the colorful Mayan world. Sense the rich & healing aroma of cacao, the jungle and copal. Let your soul be healed by the magic of this land and its people.

  • MONDAY

    EXPLORING ANTIGUA

In the early afternoon, we will meet in Antigua Guatemala, a beautiful city surrounded by volcanoes including Fuego, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. We made Antigua our meeting point for its rich history and it being approximately 1 hour from the airport. We will begin with a tour of the city and finish the day with an all-diet friendly welcome dinner.

  • TUESDAY

    JOURNEY TO LANQUIN

In the early morning, we depart after breakfast and embark on a long trip to Alta Verapaz. During our journey we will witness the most beautiful nature, mountains, indigenous towns and even the home to the quetzal bird.

Stops include breathtaking views and an all-diet friendly lunch. We arrive in beautiful Lanquin in the evening.

  • Wednesday

    FULL CACAO FARM VISIT

In the morning we will visit an ancient cacao farm where Hector, a traditional Mayan farmer and expert on medicinal plants, will teach us all about the process of cacao farming and Mayan agriculture. After a long farm visit, we will take the afternoon to rest, and enjoy a cup of cacao together.

  • THURSDAY

    SEMUC CHAMPEY

We cannot go to Lanquin without visiting the famous Semuc Champey, a place of natural turquoise swimming pools in the middle of the jungle. After breakfast, hear about the history of the region before we travel there for the day so that before we visit the sites you can learn how sacred it is for the Mayans.

  • FRIDAY

    MAKE CACAO FROM

    BEAN TO CUP

In the morning will visit a family-owned cacao production & experience an onsite workshop guided by Elsa, a Maya Q’eqchi’ woman. She will show us the production of cacao & we will all get to make our cup of cacao from bean to cup. In the afternoon we will experience a traditional Mayan Kotzij’ (ceremony) with cacao, where we can connect with the Maya energies & cleanse ourselves.

  • SATURDAY

    COPAL TREE FARM

In the morning we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the jungle, yet again, and visit a copal tree farm. You will learn from Mayan women about the production of copal, an ancient resin/incense used for millennia in Mayan spiritual & cacao practices. In the afternoon we will relax and enjoy a traditional Mayan folkloric dance known as the Deer Dance.

  • SUNDAY

    JOURNEY HOME

Together we say goodbye to beautiful Lanquin and make our way back to Antigua. We will travel through beautiful areas and enjoy a picnic all-diet friendly lunch catered by a local professional chef. We will arrive late, check in to our hotel for one last time.

  • Cacao challenge included in the self development course.

    MONDAY

    OUR FINAL DAY

On our last day together we will enjoy a beautiful breakfast and share our wonderful memories and stories, solidifying the bonds we made over the past week. This is our last group activity before we say our final goodbyes and end our tour.
